Lorraine Aguilar, Communication Expert (NVC), and Design Thinking

Lorraine Aguilar helps people collaborate, innovate and influence others. As Chief Engagement Officer at Working Harmony, Lorraine has trained and coached senior leadership teams at Apple, Nissan, Merck, the United Nations and other organizations whose success depends on effective collaboration. She speaks regularly to business leaders in China and Korea on how to influence and engage people using Nonviolent Communication (NVC), an empathy-based communications framework that promotes collaboration and innovation. A certified trainer in NVC, former engineer and corporate manager, Lorraine is internationally recognized for her development of NVC-based programs and tools that create a more empathic, collaborative and innovative workplace. She is a guest lecturer in NVC-based leadership communications at the University of Southern California (USC), the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and the University of Nanjing, China. Lorraine Aguilar received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and her M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. She is a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. In her free time, she sings and plays guitar in an alternative rock band. Lorraine is an avid surfer and has designed her life to make room for these two passions.
