Heidi Helfand, Agile/Scrum Trainer, Coach, and Consultant.

Heidi Helfand is an independent consultant, trainer and speaker with 17 years coaching and influencing cross-functional teams.

She was an early employee helping to grow and sustain two highly successful startups from roughly 10 team members to 700. The first was ExpertCity, Inc. (acquired by CitrixOnline) where she was on the development team that built GoToMyPC, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. After that she was ScrumMaster turned Principal Agile Coach at AppFolio, Inc., a SAAS workflow software company. There, Heidi was instrumental in inventing, growing and sustaining AppFolio’s highly innovative company culture founded with Extreme Programming and Agile practices from the start.

Heidi is trained in and is practicing as an Organizational Relationships Systems Coach (ORSC), actively working with executive teams in transition. She is also a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) with an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coach Federation (ICF). This coaching experience brings a unique perspective to the world of Agile and Scrum, and has been an instrumental toolset when Heidi built an Internal Agile Coaching group at AppFolio, Inc.

From the Scrum Alliance, she is a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and a Registered Education Provider (REP). She cotrains numerous scrum courses with Kelley Harris at SourceCell.

Heidi also has years of Kanban experience with various teams at AppFolio, Inc. and is a graduate of the Kanban Coaching Masterclass put on by David J. Anderson Associates.

She is also a published author, with current writing about patterns for effective reteaming, challenging the notion that you need to keep your teams “the same” in order to be successful. Her forthcoming book on reteaming has case studies from several successful companies who, on a regular basis, reteam or change up their team compositions in order to meet market demands or to encourage continual learning or fulfillment of team members.

Her book, "Dynamic Reteaming - The Art and Wisdom of Changing Teams", is now on LeanPub: https://leanpub.com/dynamicreteaming
